This one semester 9th grade course is required for graduation. The course encompasses a review of body structure and function. Special emphasis is places upon first aid and safety, nutrition and fitness, alcohol, drugs, and tobacco substance abuse, and human sexuality.
Advanced Physical Education I is a team sport and activity dominated class. The premise of the class is to instill teamwork and good sportsmanship into each individual student. The activities will involve volleyball, softball, basketball, ultimate Frisbee, flag football, soccer, & a host of team sports.
These are two semester classes that combine classroom work and weightlifting. The student will learn various lifting techniques, anatomical facts and nutritional information that will improve weightlifting success. Each student will develop and implement a personal weightlifting program.
This second course in the physical education program includes these activities: organized games, recreational sports, softball, team handball and line dancing.
