This one semester 9th grade course is required for graduation. The course encompasses a review of body structure and function. Special emphasis is places upon first aid and safety, nutrition and fitness, alcohol, drugs, and tobacco substance abuse, and human sexuality.
Advanced PE II is designed for individual sports and activities. The premise of the class is to instill lifelong activity, and wellness into each individual student. The activities will include cardiovascular fitness, weight training, outdoor activities, and other sports.
These are two semester classes that combine classroom work and weightlifting. The student will learn various lifting techniques, anatomical facts and nutritional information that will improve weightlifting success. Each student will develop and implement a personal weightlifting program.
This second course in the physical education program includes these activities: organized games, recreational sports, softball, team handball and line dancing.
