Marketing provides the student the opportunity to learn basic marketing principles, functions, and practices. Activities include marketing high school athletic and entertainment events, creating a marketing plan, and analysis of marketing strategies. The opportunity to market similar events in the private sector of the community may be available. Emphasis is place upon the functions and foundations of marketing, skills for marketing and career development. A large part of the course will include hands on learning through student development activities. Application of computer technology will be part of the instructional strategy. If college and a business or advertising major lie in your future, this is definitely a course for you.
